Guest Blogger: Glitter & Grace!

Hi Loves! As most of you know, I'm still on vacation in San Francisco. SO- I asked my friend Sara B. from one of my favorite blogs, Glitter and Grace, to stop by and guest post. The sweet girl that she is has put together a lovely montage of her favorite glitter nail tutorials. Enjoy & I'll see you guys tomorrow. Be sure to show Sara B. some love and follow her blog when you're done!

Turquoise & Caicos by Essie with gold glitter on my ring finger

Hi! I'm Sara from Glitter and Grace and am so happy to be guest posting over at a fellow kitty/fashion/leopard-loving friend's blog!

I have a passion for nail polish (and glitter obviously) so I wanted to share some different ways I've incorporated glitter into my manicures to give myself something fun and sparkly to look at throughout the day :) Hope it inspires you to try something new with your nails next time you paint them!

Pink with a silver glitter stripe in the middle.
I taped my nails off for this one (see my tutorial here) but you can also use a thin-brushed nail polish to just draw a straight line across each nail. (I use Art Deco brand for my thin nail brushes)

Essie Cocktail Bling with Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday glitter
Painted my nails gray, dabbed the top of each one with glitter, then did a second coat of glitter on the top half of each nail.

Gray with silver glitter at the base (Art Deco small brush again)

Shimmery silver with Deborah Lippmann's Boom Boom Pow over it
Layering shimmer and glitter gives your nails more of a classy, iridescent shine rather than full out glitter nails

Black with Pink/Purple Glitter on the tips (both colors from Forever 21)
For glitter tips all you need to do is just lightly dab the glitter polish on the top of each nail (one coat is usually all you need) and it turns out great!

Half and half nails - Essie Lapis of Luxury with Forever 21 Silver Glitter
For this one I painted my nails with the Essie color, waited for them to FULLY dry, then taped off half of them and painted the glitter onto the other half. Carefully remove tape, then paint a top coat over it all.

Mint with silver glitter polka dots
I used my art deco bottle again to create the dots.

Silver glitter tips - one of my favorites
Just paint a clear base coat, then dab silver glitter polish on the tips! Finish with a good top coat (I love Seche Vite)

Coral with gold glitter bases (used Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow)
I free-handed this one, basically just carefully painted the base of each nail with two coats of glitter!

I will always love the one glitter nail look (I like using the ring finger the most)
Pink + silver glitter is so feminine and happy to me

China Glaze Solar Flare
Then sometimes you just need to go for it and do solid glitter. Trust me you won't be disappointed ;)

Happy sparkles and nail painting!
xoxo

  1. Think I'm going to get myself some new glitter polishes! I love the bare nails with a hint of sparkle at the tip.

  2. I'm so obsessed with glitter polish. When I go "sans glitter" my nails just never look as good! Thanks for the ideas!
