My close friends know I love to dance. More accurately, they know I love to dance and lip sync to pop music along the lines of Miley Cyrus, or if we're being REAL frank here... Backstreet Boys. And I've got some sweet moves. I mean, not to brag, but there is definitely a dance CALLED the Kelli Ryder. It is really more of a shenanigan set to a beat. A lot of snapping is involved. I love to snap. So when this video first made the rounds on the internet, I about lost it. It was made for me! Lindy asked, politely, "Why is Bieber dancing around in a living room??" and I told her not to worry about it because it was awesome. She gave the video a few more views- and promptly agreed. Awesome. We suddenly had an anthem for our entire summer! I then spent the next few weeks of my life wondering why I wasn't a millionaire who got to dance around with my best friends to great music. What a bummer!
I also am really a fan of the Man Repeller. She is, to put it lightly, my hero. I mean, take a look at her blog and you'll see. She has unreal style, is a hilarious writer, and more than anything really seems to be having just an absolute BLAST 100% of the time. She is a weirdo... she embraces it.... she becomes wildly successful... and as far as I can tell, her life is only getting MORE fun because of it.
So the thing is, this is when I'd find a witty way to combine those two things [the video + the Repeller] metaphorically, but I've got quite a shoulder ache and I just cannot think of anything. SO, the whole purpose... of this post.... [there is one] is that while the Man Repeller was getting ready for the CFDA awards with Rebecca Minkoff and Hilary Rhoda- they filmed their own Call Me Maybe video. An unbelievable combination of two of my favorite things?!?! I was elated when I saw it existed. And it is everything I could ever hope for. Enjoy:
