If you follow L&L on Facebook, you saw my update late last night that said "Wait a minute... I have a blog???" I plum forgot! Okay, I didn't forget but basically [let's be honest] I haven't really felt like kickin' it around these parts. That sounds rude, but it isn't. By "these parts"- I don't mean the BLOG I mean my LAPTOP. And by "kickin' it," I mean upload photos and write words. I'm just tired. So tired. BUT I've caught up on my sleep AND my laundry and I'm BACK with a vengeance or at least a little more motivation.
So, this outfit is from my road trip down to Las Vegas. This charming little town is Ely, Nevada. [Which happens to have a very clean public restroom, for which we are grateful.] I thought I'd snap a few outfit shots and share a few outfit tips for traveling.
As much as it hurts my heart, these are officially jeggings. And I'm officially an advocate for them. Stretchy black pants with a zipper-fly and button. If styled properly, they could be confused with dress pants. But alas, they're really just yoga pants with pockets. When you're traveling, especially by car... you just have to focus on comfort. A thick denim in a hot car seat?? Nightmares. Comfort is also the reason why I wore Tim's my Oxford t-shirt [originally seen here]. It is so soft. AND, it made the popular page on Pose. We'll talk more about that later.
So--- since it is pretty warm out and we were headed south, a sweater wasn't going to be logical. But we left quite early, I needed something. Enter: CHAMBRAY. Is this shirt the best purchase ever?? Well, I've styled it here, here, here, AND here.... I'd say it has paid for itself. Button ups are a perfect cardigan replacement for summer. And based on the sheer number of times I've worn it on this blog alone, I need more.
Lastly, ACCESSORIES. So, are these sunglasses my favorite?? No. But when you're in a car for a long time... you don't want ANY SORT OF DISCOMFORT. These are not too tight on my head so they won the coin toss. As for shoes... I grabbed these old Target sandals to slip on and off easily. They are basic and I adore them- but were purchased 2 summers ago, so check out the similar pair posted which may be even cuter!!!
I know road trips usually equal pajama pants and flip flops... but I don't think they have to. Who says you can't be stylish at the highway rest stop?? NOT ME.

Definitely a great traveling outfit, well done! =)
