If you haven't caught on yet, I don't wear heels often. And even worse- these days, I'm usually in sneakers. I realized after feeling "under dressed" about a thousand times, I needed to find a way to dress up my feet. BUT, the thing is... I don't LIKE wearing heels. I mean, some girls live in them, and I am so jealous of that trait. Flats have long been equated to "frumpy." If you're going to any sort of event, heels make the outfit. Trust me, I'm aware. But I don't know what to tell you, I just don't like them on my own feet all the time.
The combination of achy feet, feeling too tall, and my toenails getting destroyed time and time again is probably what did it for me. Do I admire heels? You bet. I am pretty obsessed with them on other people's feet. But for my poor tootsies, flats are it.
To remedy my problem and fancy up my feet, I compiled a list of my must have flats for this fall. I added some hot pink pretties because as I've mentioned before, I don't think that fall should be all doom and gloom. Some metallic ones to pair with jeans or skirts, and of course... the gorgeous Jayne T-strap's from J.Crew need to be in my life ASAP. The chain! Amazing.
Recently, I spied a pair of GORGEOUS burgundy pumps... but these bow flats are the perfect solution for me. The texture and color is a game changer for my closet. And to elongate my legs and solve the problem of looking stocky when in flat shoes, the pointed nude flats are perfect. Lastly, what would a wish list be without some polka dots, and metallic ones at that?
To me, fashion is [and always has been] open for interpretation. While so many of my fashionista friends have such gorgeous shoe collections, I realized I needed to be honest with my closet and stay on trend in a way that works for me.
Which do you prefer? Heels or flats?
