Since moving to SF, I've completely fallen for interior design. My job is obviously behind this new romance... but another reason is that I'm actually creating my dream space. In all my homes before, I only put in half the effort. I would decorate with things I already owned or that were free and just make it work. While they were great spaces, they were never ME.
I used to look at design blogs and love seeing all of the beautiful homes- but never took the effort to apply the concepts to my own abode. We can call that "lazy." By selling almost all of my stuff before I moved- I was forced to actually identify my aesthetic and go from there. It helps that working with Tim and combining our taste into one space has made the process super fun- none of it feels like work at all. Except when we went to IKEA on a Saturday. That definitely felt like work.
Since we're just putting the finishing touches on the dining room, my focus has turned to our bedroom. I don't know what it is, but we've yet to create a plan for the space and it is entirely frustrating. We have art on the walls and new bedding, but none of it feels cohesive. I recently rearranged and de-cluttered all of my Pinterest boards, and in doing so I found a few mega-inspirations for our room. Which one will be the winner?
Hopefully we'll soon have our perfect bedroom- whatever that means. Personally, feminine glamour is my favorite, but we'll likely have to find a way to make a happy partnership between that and the first image.
Speaking of home decor- this weekend I'll be photographing the one "finished" space in our apartment: the living room! You can expect your first look into my home tour next week. I hope you have a great weekend, and as always- thanks for reading!
