Patience & Vignettes.

I have finally started the process of photographing our apartment to share on L&L! But everything involved has been just that- a process! A few weeks ago, I found myself super discouraged by this. We haven't found the perfect rug or curtains and I sometimes feel like there is too much "boy stuff." Our living room came together so quickly and beautifully... I assumed the rest of the house would as well. Unfortunately, things don't always happen automatically.

From getting things set up exactly as we want them, to learning how to use my camera- I have had to force myself to step back and be patient. Just because I suddenly have an amazing camera + lens doesn't make me a skilled photographer. It has been years since I've touched a camera... and it isn't like riding a bike. Because again... things don't always happen automatically. I finally had a reality-check moment where I realized everything in life is always evolving. My style has changed, my blog content has changed, my interests have changed. It is a slow progression, and it would be fairly creepy if all that change happened in one day. So, I am accepting the fact that things aren't just perfect just yet.

PATIENCE. I see us all longing for more patience. We have a brilliant idea or goal and we want to make it happen that exact moment. It doesn't work that way, it doesn't have to, and we need to accept that. So even though it is 10 days into the New Year, I'm adding that to my resolution list. Be. More. Patient.

SIGH... the troubles of a perfectionist. This little inspiration post got long quick! Because, YES... somehow, it originally started out with the intent of being an inspiration post. If you're still with me, thank you & BRAVO. Luckily, I can tie it all back together, I promise. So- we all have these big things we're trying to accomplish. I've found that the best way to finish them is to take care of all the little things first! Before you know it, the big thing will be done! When it comes to decorating your home, that means VIGNETTES.

I live & die for vignettes. Each corner of our place is home to it's own little vignette... though as I mentioned, I sometimes feel like there is so much boy stuff. So, I've scoured Pinterest for inspiration to add that feminine touch to Casa de Kelli & Tim. Here are my top choices:

Pretty much a roundup of perfection, no?? I am currently scouring all my favorite sites and thrift shops for the perfect pieces to make these vignettes reality. Wish me luck!!

I hope you all have an amazing weekend. On Monday, when I added a little tidbit to my style post- begging my friend Amanda to come visit- I didn't realize she would listen so quickly. Her and her boyfriend booked an impromptu trip to catch the playoff game and of course... see me. I am beyond excited. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go stock the fridge with champagne.

Happy Friday!!

  1. I feel ya. Patience is a virtue I don't have. With time and some thrifting hopefully you can find what you want on the cheap. I'd rather gather items over time and have it be a beautiful collection, rather than all at once at one store so that it looks too matchy matchy.
Good luck and have a fun weekend.

  3. I've lived in my house for 3 years and I still can't figure out the whole decorating thing...it is sooo overwhelming! You definitely have great inspiration though. Can't wait to see how it all turns out!

  4. Casa di Kelli & Tim, how cute are you!
I love Nate Berkus and he says, "A home is a collection of things you love, built over time." That has helped me when I don't have the money, or the time, to get it right. I know that it will come with time. Because really, it will never be done. That's part of the fun! :)
