Weekend Vibes and Fresh Stripes

This weekend was a good one. Tim has been back to work after the premiere of Trolls and the art show sabbatical he took after. It was a bummer having him go back to the office after being so used to having him around, but his schedule is only Monday - Thursday. You guys, it is pure magic. That extra day at home together feels like vacation, even if we're both working for most of the day. (Maybe because I am literally just at home, alone, with my laptop, for most of the week. It's REAL nice to have someone to chat with other than the cats.)

I got a beautiful flower delivery from my friend Mandana Dayani and her team at EBTH. This bouquet was/still is so beautiful and made my entire day/life. I really love working with EBTH, mostly because it allows me to spend some time perusing their inventory and call it work. (This might be my favorite section on their site. So much creepy goodness.)

I am trying to up the game on my summer wardrobe, and this striped top that I found at tobi.com is part of that plan. I recently went on a little spree and added some pieces that have more flair, so I'm going to do my best to show them off here.

Tim and I went to a late lunch at one of our favorite spots (Hyperion Public) and when I walked out in this, Tim was shocked I wasn't in a black t-shirt and jeans. I'll admit, it 100% is totally out of my comfort zone but I think that's a good thing. It's so easy for me to get in a 'style-slump' and just wear a different version of the same outfit for two years.

I like that it's super lightweight and the bell sleeves are just so good. I want to find a cute skirt or high-waisted shorts to pair with it, so let me know if you have any favorites! Anyways, shop the top here. (My purse is by MRKT Bags, which is an LA-based brand that I love. It's on sale now, FYI.)

On Friday night, we went to a screening of Breaking Breaker, a show by two of the Novogratz kids. Afterwards, Robert and Cortney hosted a Cinco de Mayo party at their beautiful home. It was more fun than you can shake a stick at, so Tim and I found ourselves needing a greasy breakfast the next day. (Oops.) We spent Saturday morning in Los Feliz -- having breakfast at Fred 62 and then wandering a few shops. Our final stop was Bar Covell, which is one of my favorite places and conveniently walking distance from our house. How can you not be obsessed with a place that has a rad motorcycle and a stunning floral arrangement in the same corner?

By Saturday, we realized some exercise was WAY necessary to work off all of the weekend's fun, so we hiked up in Griffith Park.

All this to say, life in LA is weird right? I'm going to try and be a little more diligent about these weekend recaps, because the longer we live here, the more interesting the weekends seem to get. And you might not think that a hike is all that interesting, but when you see Bravo reality stars getting their fitness on too... WELL LET ME TELL YOU, it's a thrill.

Thanks for tuning in and I promise to get the dust blown off this blog and the rust out of my writing. (That means I'm rusty. Did that even make sense?)
