Hi! I’m Krystal.
I live in Los Angeles, CA with husband [Tim] and our 2 cats [Roxanne and Leonard]. We moved here from San Francisco in the summer of 2015. I came here kicking and screaming. Okay, not really, but I did cry a lot. Luckily, I have really grown to love LA, so on this blog you’re sure to find quite a few local favorites as I continue to explore.
I’m currently the Managing Editor for Rue Magazine. Because of the nature of my work, this space occasionally gets put on the back burner. But don’t fret! I’ll never fully abandon this blog. I love being able to connect with people and share a more personal look into my life.
My claim to fame — JK, not famous at all — is that I once went a year without shopping. To learn more about that, you can read the hilariously dated blog or watch this 5 minute video. It’s only slightly mortifying. For an updated perspective on the whole ordeal, read this interview on Wit & Delight.
A lot of people think that the name “Leopard and Lavender” is one of those catchy, overdone blog titles that takes two words and puts an AND between them. It is. Whoops. But since I overanalyze everything… there’s more to it. Leopard is wild. Lavender is not. I fully relate to both of those categories and my entire life has been about finding the balance between the two and identifying what defines me.
Of course, I’m not always that deep. It also helps that my dad has a lavender farm in Idaho, and that our cat Leonard is a bengal. AKA a leopard. Leopard… and Lavender. LOL.
I hope you enjoy!
